John Boyd (bass)

John and Phil first became friends In New Zealand over 17 years ago. They were both in bands and both played the same scene and circuit of live music venues. John played guitar for the NZ based band ‘Form’, a worship group signed to Integrity music and who toured the U.S. in 1999 and 2001. Eight years ago he married Laura who is also a musician. She was in ‘Elephant’. Laura was the lead singer of the band and sang while playing the drums. Whenever John brings his family on the road Laura will sing back ground vocals with Phil and also play tambourine.

Amongst his many skills John is a seasoned audio engineer and after he and Laura relocated to the States, John began working with Phil engineering the ‘deliberatePeople album’ in 05’.  John has since engineered the ‘deliberateKids’ CD and also Phil’s latest CD ‘The New Normal’.

John’s role with Phil and the deliberatePeople ministry has grown over the past few years and he now wears many hats. While being seen on stage playing bass with the band this is just the tip of the iceberg compared with what he does off stage keeping things running smoothly. He now wears a management hat and also handles the booking side of things. To sum it up, John is an extremely talented individual and an invaluable member of the dP team.
