About Phil Joel.
For over 17 years, New Zealander Phil Joel has been a mainstay in Contemporary Christian music with his upfront role as bass player and vocalist for the Newsboys along with the music of his six solo CDs. January 07’ marked a new chapter for Phil after announcing he would be stepping out of the band after thirteen years to focus on new music that would serve to support his growing desire for more hands on ministry.
Whether with his band or in an acoustic setting, Phil’s music is always delivered with a passion and a smile. He draws from his 6 solo albums and multiple Newsboys CD’s to communicate the story of a life radically changed by God. Phil is currently working on his new CD - due late spring 2012.
In 2005, Phil and his wife Heather began deliberatePeople - a ministry focused on communicating God’s desire for us to live in true relationship - first with Him and then with those around us. A “deliberate person” is one that passionately pursues their relationship with the Lord and is allowing that relationship to permeate all areas of their life.
Being and always becoming deliberatePeople - This is the heartbeat of Phil’s message.
By weaving message and testimony throughout his performances the lines between entertainment and ministry fade as the listener is drawn to a fresh openness to the Lord’s voice and presence. deliberatePeople offers inspiration and resources for those desiring to be more deliberate in their walk with God.
After hearing and experiencing the passion and purpose of Phil’s music and it will undoubtedly leave you feeling ready, willing and above all “able” to move forward in your faith with a fresh hunger for more of God’s Word, power and presence in your daily life. Whether at a youth conference, a men’s gathering or in a church service - whatever the setting, Phil has a unique ability to reach people with a message that is relevent to every age and stage in life.
“It’s exciting to see a fun concert experience - a great “moment”- firestart a real “movement” in people’s lives toward pursuing the Lord every day.” Phil Joel
